Acceptance of TermsBy downloading, installing, or using Regi, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.---2. Who Can Use RegiYou must be at least 13 years old to use Regi. By using the app, you confirm that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or guardian.---3. Your AccountYou are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password. You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account. You may not share your account with others or use another person's account.---4. User ContentRegi allows you to post product reviews, ratings, and other content. By posting content, you grant Regi a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute that content within the app.You are solely responsible for the content you post. You agree not to post content that is false, misleading, harmful, offensive, or violates any third party's rights.---5. Beauty and Skincare InformationRegi is a social platform for sharing beauty and skincare experiences. The content on Regi — including product reviews, recommendations, and trait matching — is for informational and community purposes only. It is not medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional or dermatologist for medical concerns.---6. Privacy and Your DataWe collect information about your skin type, hair type, and beauty traits to power the twin-matching features of the app. We will never sell your personal data to third-party advertisers or insurers. Please review our Privacy Policy for full details on how we collect, use, and protect your data.You have the right to delete your account at any time. Deleting your account will permanently remove your profile, reviews, and personal data from our systems.---7. Affiliate LinksRegi may include affiliate links to third-party retailers. If you purchase a product through an affiliate link, Regi may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. Affiliate relationships do not influence product recommendations or review rankings.---8. Prohibited Conduct and Community StandardsRegi maintains a zero-tolerance policy for objectionable content and abusive behavior. You agree not to post, share, or transmit content, or engage in conduct, that:- Sexualizes minors or contains child sexual abuse material (CSAM). We have zero tolerance for such content and will report any instance to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and applicable law enforcement.
- Is objectionable, abusive, harassing, threatening, defamatory, obscene, hateful, violent, sexually explicit, pornographic, or otherwise inappropriate.
- Promotes discrimination based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
- Promotes illegal activity, violence, self-harm, or harm to others.
- Constitutes false, misleading, or harmful reviews, including paid reviews not disclosed as such, fake or inauthentic engagement, or astroturfing.
- Engages in harassment, bullying, stalking, doxxing, or other abusive behavior toward other users.
- Impersonates other users, public figures, or any person or entity, or misrepresents your affiliation with any person or entity.
- Attempts to access other users' accounts, circumvent security measures, or interfere with the proper functioning of the app.
- Is used for any illegal or unauthorized purpose.
- Scrapes, copies, or redistributes app content without our written permission.
- Constitutes spam, unsolicited promotional content, or unauthorized commercial use.Enforcement. We reserve the right to remove any content and to suspend or terminate the accounts of users who violate these standards, at our sole discretion and without prior notice. Repeat offenders may be permanently banned. Severe violations — including any content involving the sexualization of minors — will be reported to applicable law enforcement.Reporting objectionable content. Regi provides in-app tools to report objectionable content and abusive users. You can report any review by tapping the ⋯ menu on the review and selecting Report. We review all reports within 24 hours and take appropriate action, which may include content removal, account warnings, suspension, or permanent ban.Blocking users. You can block any user from their profile or any of their reviews via the ⋯ menu. Blocked users' content will not appear in your feeds, search results, or any other surface within the app.---9. Intellectual PropertyAll content, design, and technology within Regi is owned by Regi LLC. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the app without our written permission.---10. Third-Party ServicesRegi uses third-party services including Firebase (Google) for data storage and authentication. Your use of these services is also subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.---11. DisclaimersRegi is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that product recommendations will be suitable for your specific needs.---12. Limitation of LiabilityTo the fullest extent permitted by law, Regi LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.---13. Changes to These TermsWe may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app. Continued use of Regi after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.---14. Governing LawThese terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict of law principles.---15. App Store TermsIf you access Regi through Apple's App Store or another app store, the following additional terms apply:- These Terms of Service are entered into between you and Regi LLC. Regi LLC — not the app store provider (e.g., Apple Inc.) — is solely responsible for the app and its content.
- The app store provider has no obligation to provide maintenance, support, warranty, or product liability services for Regi.
- If Regi fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify the app store provider, who may refund the purchase price (if any). To the maximum extent permitted by law, the app store provider has no other warranty obligation with respect to Regi.
- You represent that (a) you are not located in any country subject to a U.S. government embargo or that has been designated by the U.S. government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and (b) you are not listed on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- The app store provider and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms of Service and have the right to enforce them against you.
- Any claims related to your use of Regi must be brought against Regi LLC, not the app store provider. The app store provider has no responsibility for addressing claims related to Regi or your possession or use of Regi.---16. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, your rights, and the choices you have. Information You Provide Directly- Account information: Email address, display name, and (optionally) a profile photo. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive a name and email from your authentication provider as permitted by the settings you chose with that provider.
- Beauty and skincare profile traits: Skin type, hair type, sensitivity level, climate, porosity, undertone, depth, and any skin or hair concerns or goals you select during onboarding or later in Settings. These traits power Regi's twin-matching feature.
- User-generated content: Product reviews you write (including star ratings, comments, and product shelf status — Holy Grail, In Rotation, Dying to Try, Graveyard); community asks (questions you post to the community) and responses; comments; and any product information you submit.
- Communications: If you contact us by email or fill out a form, we collect the content of your messages and your contact information.B. Information Collected Automatically- Usage data: Screens viewed, features used, taps, time spent, and interactions with other users' content.
- Device information: Device model, operating system version, mobile network, language, and time zone.
- Log data: IP address, app version, referring sources, and timestamps.C. Information From Authentication ProvidersWhen you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the basic profile information you authorize that provider to share with us (typically your email and name). We do not receive your password from those providers, and we do not request access to your contacts, calendar, or other data on those accounts.D. Information From Affiliate PartnersWhen you click a product link in Regi and complete a purchase, our affiliate partners (Amazon Associates, Impact.com, Rakuten, and similar networks) report the transaction back to us so we can attribute the referral. This data is aggregate and does not include your payment information.---2. How We Use Your InformationWe use the information we collect to:- Provide the Services, including creating your account, displaying your shelf and reviews, and surfacing content from users who match your profile.
- Power twin-matching, our core feature, which compares your traits to other users' traits to surface reviews and recommendations from people with similar skin, hair, sensitivity, and climate profiles. See Section 3 for details.
- Personalize your experience, including which products are recommended to you and which reviewers' content appears in your feed.
- Operate the moderation and safety features (Report and Block), enforce our Terms of Service, and protect against fraud, abuse, and harmful conduct.
- Communicate with you about your account, transactional matters (e.g., password resets, important updates), and — only with your separate consent or where permitted by law — marketing.
- Analyze and improve the Services, including debugging, measuring engagement, and developing new features.
- Comply with legal obligations, respond to lawful requests, and enforce our agreements.---3. Twin-Matching: How It WorksTwin-matching is Regi's core mechanic. We compare the beauty profile traits you provide (skin type, hair type, sensitivity, climate, porosity, undertone, depth, concerns) with the traits of other users to identify "twins" — users with substantially similar profiles. We then surface their reviews, recommendations, and routines to you, and your reviews and shelf may be surfaced to your twins.What this means for you:- Your beauty profile traits are visible to other users who match you on those traits (and on your public profile to anyone who navigates to it).
- Your reviews and public shelf items are visible to other users of Regi, especially your twins.
- Your email address, password, IP address, and other sensitive identifiers are never shared with other users.---4. How We Share InformationWe do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.We share information in the following circumstances:- With other Regi users: Content you make public (display name, profile photo, beauty profile traits, reviews, public shelf items, community asks and responses) is visible to other users of the app.
- With service providers: We rely on trusted vendors who process data on our behalf, including Google Firebase (authentication, Firestore database, hosting, analytics, Cloud Functions), email service providers (transactional and, where you've opted in, marketing), and affiliate networks (Amazon Associates, Impact.com, Rakuten). These vendors are contractually limited to using your information for the purposes we direct.
- For legal reasons: We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, court order, or other legal process, or to protect Regi, our users, or the public from harm or illegal activity. This includes reports of severe violations (such as content involving the sexualization of minors), which we will report to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and applicable law enforcement.
- In a business transfer: If Regi LLC is acquired, merged, or sells substantially all of its assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you (e.g., via email or in-app notice) of any such change in ownership or use.---5. Affiliate Links and Product RecommendationsRegi participates in affiliate advertising programs, including Amazon Associates, Impact.com, and Rakuten. When you click on certain product links in the app and complete a qualifying purchase, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. We disclose this relationship prominently in the app's Shop tab and elsewhere where applicable, in accordance with FTC guidelines.Affiliate links route you to third-party retailer websites, which have their own privacy practices. We are not responsible for those practices; please review the privacy policies of any retailer site you visit.---6. Moderation and Safety Data (Reports and Blocks)To keep Regi safe, we operate moderation features that involve collecting limited additional information:- Reports: When you tap the ⋯ menu on a review and select Report, we record your user ID (as the reporter), the reported user's ID, the reported content reference, the reason you selected, and any optional note you provide. We store this in a private reports collection and review all reports within 24 hours. Reports are not visible to other users.
- Blocks: When you block another user, we record that user's identifier in a private list on your account (blocked_uids). We do not notify the blocked user. Blocked users' content is hidden from your view across the app, and your content is hidden from theirs.We use this information to enforce our Terms of Service, remove content that violates community standards, and protect users from harassment, harmful content, and abuse.---7. Your Rights and ChoicesA. Access, Correction, and Profile SettingsYou can view and edit your account information, beauty profile traits, profile photo, and display name at any time in the app's Settings.B. Account DeletionYou can delete your account at any time by opening Settings → Delete Account in the app. When you delete your account:- Your Firebase authentication credentials and your private profile data (email, traits, shelf, blocked users list) are permanently removed.
- Your public reviews and community contributions are anonymized — your display name is replaced with "[deleted user]" so others' twin-matching context is preserved, but no personal identifiers remain associated with the content.
- Your reports of others' content are retained for safety and audit purposes but are no longer associated with your identity.
- This action is irreversible.If you'd prefer different handling of your content, contact us at [email protected] before deleting your account.C. Marketing Opt-OutYou can opt out of marketing emails at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email we send. Transactional emails (e.g., password resets, account notices) will continue.D. Blocking Other UsersYou can block any other user from their profile or from any of their reviews via the ⋯ menu. Blocked users' content will not appear in your feeds, search results, or anywhere else in the app.E. California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)If you are a California resident, you have the following additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act and the California Privacy Rights Act:- Right to know what personal information we have collected about you in the past 12 months.
- Right to delete the personal information we have collected from you (see Section 7.B above for the in-app deletion path).
- Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
- Right to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information. Regi does not sell personal information and does not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of, but the right is preserved.
- Right to non-discrimination — we will not deny services, charge different prices, or provide a different quality of service because you exercised these rights.
- Right to limit use of sensitive personal information — Regi does not use sensitive personal information for purposes other than those permitted under the CPRA.To exercise these rights, email us at [email protected]. You may also designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. We will verify your identity before responding.F. European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Swiss Residents (GDPR / UK GDPR)If you are located in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you have the following rights:- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erasure ("right to be forgotten") of your data, subject to legal exceptions.
- Restrict or object to processing in certain circumstances.
- Data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.Our legal bases for processing are: (a) performance of our contract with you (providing the Services); (b) your consent, where applicable; (c) our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the Services; and (d) compliance with legal obligations. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your data as described in Section 7.B. Backups are retained for up to 90 days and then purged.---9. Children's PrivacyRegi is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at [email protected], and we will delete the information. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).If you are between 13 and 17 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction), you represent that your parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to this policy on your behalf.---10. Data SecurityWe take reasonable and appropriate measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. These include:- Encryption of data in transit using TLS.
- Access controls and authentication on our backend (Google Firebase).
- Firestore security rules that limit which data each user can read and write.
- Routine security review and incident response procedures.No method of internet transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. We will notify you of any data breach affecting your personal information as required by applicable law.---11. Tracking, Analytics, and Apple App Tracking TransparencyRegi does not track you across other companies' apps or websites for advertising purposes. We do not use third-party advertising SDKs that engage in cross-app tracking. Accordingly, you will not see Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt when you open Regi.We use Firebase Analytics to understand aggregate, non-identifying usage patterns of the Services (e.g., which screens are most used, how long sessions last) to improve the app. This data is associated with a Firebase-generated app instance identifier, not with your personal identifiers, and is not used for advertising. You can disable analytics collection in your device settings.---12. International Users and Data TransfersRegi is operated from the United States. If you access the Services from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction. By using the Services, you consent to this transfer. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) to protect international data transfers.---13. Third-Party Links and ServicesOur Services may contain links to third-party websites, services, or products (including affiliate-partner retailer sites). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, and this policy does not apply to them. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any third party before providing them with information.---14.
